A big $10,000 jackpot has been added to the First 4 pool for Saturday night’s Allied Express Young Pedro Free For All at Melton and the trainers have had their say on the chances of their horses ahead of the 1720m event.

1: Perfect Stride ($7)

Trainer: Shane Sanderson / Driver: Ryan Sanderson

Trainer’s thoughts: The horse is going as well as he can be, and he has got the best draw he has got in a long time.

2: Tango Tara ($5)

Trainer: Andy Gath / Driver: Kate Gath

Trainer’s thoughts: His last three runs have been quite credible. I think he has quiet good gate speed and has better form over the short then he does over the longer journey. He doesn’t win often, but he has got a good chance on Saturday night.

3: Ideal Escape ($19)

Trainer: Julie Douglas / Driver: Ellen Tormey

Trainer’s thoughts:  He is going very well. He is a go-forward horse, he is not the easiest horse to drive. He will probably lead, if not he will sit in the death.

4: Yambukian ($7.50)

Trainer: Andy Gath / Driver: Jordan Leedham

Trainer’s thoughts: He is racing well. His best form is when he can find the pegs - whether he can or not on Saturday night, I am not sure - but he won’t be far away.

6: Sew What ($26)

Trainer: Dianne Giles / Driver: Jackie Barker

Trainer’s thoughts: She is bright and she is well, she just needs some luck. The draw is never ideal.

7: Helluva ($17)

Trainer: John Justice / Driver: Ewa Justice

Trainer’s thoughts: He is going really well and I am very happy with him. His last run was fantastic. The draw is a bit tricky, but it’s only a short trip. I think he has got a pretty good chance.

8: Heza Son Of Agun ($8)

Trainer: Matthew Craven / Driver: Matthew Craven

Trainer’s thoughts:  He has come through his run good and all that. He will need some luck from that draw. Probably hard to win from there, but hopefully he comes down the outside.

9: Triple Eight ($2.80)

Trainer: Jess Tubbs / Driver: Greg Sugars

Trainer’s thoughts: This looks a suitable race on paper, so we just have to hope for that little bit of luck in running.

10: Curly James ($5)

Trainer: Courtney Laker / Driver: David Moran

Trainer’s thoughts:  He is going really well, I think we are a chance of winning. We have obviously drawn quiet a bad barrier over the short. He is going to have to do a bit of work. Hopefully he is strong enough at the end to win.

11: Supreme Dominator ($41)

Trainer: Joe Pace / Driver: Adrian Pace

Trainer’s thoughts: The draw is not going to help him, no one wants barrier 11. He is going good enough, but it will probably take him a couple of race starts for him to hit full fitness. It wouldn’t surprise me if he wins and it wouldn’t surprise me if he runs a really good race.
