Stewards today held an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the nomination and subsequent scratching of the horse Ask Ashley from the Tabcorp Park Harness meeting conducted on Friday 12 February 2010.
After considering evidence from Mr Adams and HRV Investigative Steward Mr Andy Rogers, Mr Adams pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of Rule 216 that states:
A person whether alone or in association with others shall not nominate or start a horse in a race fraudulently.
It was found Mr Adams did nominate the horse Ask Ashley as a late nomination for a race at the Tabcorp Park Harness meeting on 12 February 2010 fraudulently when Ask Ashley was only nominated to ensure there were sufficient acceptors for the race to go ahead.
Mr Adams was subsequently fined $1500.
